Dolly Parton Imagination Library

Dolly Parton Imagination Library

1 Book Can Make a Difference – And we’ve distributed over 90,000 to date.

In Louisiana, only 57.1% of children are entering kindergarten ready to learn.  To better prepare St. John the Baptist Parish's youngest readers for successful literacy in kindergarten, St. John United Way and several of our community partners have teamed with Imagination Library to provide children 5 and under with a monthly, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home. Our local efforts are part of the successful national program founded by Dolly Parton in her home state of Tennessee. Currently, Imagination Library is accepting any child under the age of 5 in St. John the Baptist Parish.

How does it work?

It is really easy! Each month, a new, age-appropriate book is mailed directly to the child's home until they turn 5 years old. To enroll your child online, please click here.
